The Cleveland Farmers Market will be open tomorrow from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. behind the Cleveland post office. We are a rain or shine market so please stop by even if the weather doesn't look perfect. The market also accepts WIC vouchers and SNAP EBT. There will be yellow squash cookies at the Friends tent.
From Ryan, the market manager extraordinaire: The Cleveland Farmer’s Market is writing a cookbook! Be a part of it by submitting a recipe using at least one ingredient that can be found at the market. (hint, we sell eggs, honey, herbs, jams, jellies, and lots of fresh vegetables.} Submit a recipe and you will be entered in a drawing for a tee shirt with the new market logo.
There are two ways to submit your recipe. You can email it to Cameron McMillen at edyecameron@cableone.net(which gives you two chances for the drawing) or submit it in writing at the friends tent at the market (which gives you one chance for the drawing.)
The deadline for submitting your recipe is Saturday July 16, 2011 but don’t wait – we can only use 150 recipes. Each recipe will be published with the name of the person who submitted it.
We could use some volunteers on Saturdays and Wednesdays to keep track of how many customers come to the market. These statistics are vital for grant-writing, improving the market, publicizing, and recruiting new vendors. If you've got a free Saturday morning or a free Wednesday afternoon, then you're hired!
